Notes about the producer:
Rare, limited offering from Chateau des Tours, the southern Rhone property of Emmanuel Reynaud, of Chateau Rayas with its crown jewel Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  Adhering to the traditional techniques that have made the wines so revered for generations, the vineyards are tended with the same organic methods used in all of Emmanuel's properties:manually plowed, harvested much later than other producers, and centered around a reverence for old-vine Grenache.They are unique in that they are planted in sandy soil instead of the galets common to the appellation. There is a clear through line in all the wines produced by Emmanuel — a unique weighty, aromatic, complex, and savory signature of all the wines that places them among the most well-regarded, sought-after bottles of the appellation.

About the 2020 vintage: Old-vine Grenache 65%, Syrah 20%, Cinsault 15%, fermented in old oak with natural yeasts. Aged 18 months in old oak casks.
